The Founder
Casey Harding-Brown is a 20-something-year-old California native, who resides in Denver, Colorado. She is a CU graduate with a major in Psychology, a singer-songwriter, writer, and food and travel enthusiast. She has spent over 4 years in the SaSS (software as a service) sales sector, a highly male-dominated field. She is passionate about giving women a platform to showcase their voices, in any way they see fit. Scarlet Madonna’s name is an ironic play on the Freudian Madonna/Whore Theory.
Notes From Casey
“I chose the name Scarlet because red is often associated with sex and deviance and it rhymes with Harlot, the medieval term for a sexually promiscuous woman. While Madonna represents the “pure” woman. Women are not meant to put into a single category. We are multi-dimensional beings who can’t be put into boxes. That’s what Scarlet Madonna is all about: showcasing the many facets of women.”
“I’ve always loved to write so I knew I wanted to do something centered around writing/blogging. The issue with regular blogs (for me) is that publishing, reading, and getting affirmation on my writing alone is not only a bit boring but extremely limiting and (IMO) slightly dangerous. I wanted to create a platform for all women’s voices. I want to hear and learn from all different walks of life and backgrounds. I wanted to create safe haven for women to connect with each other and express themselves freely. Scarlet Madonna is a platform that showcases women’s art, business, tips and tricks, their passions, and life experiences-good and the bad.”
Casey hopes Scarlet Madonna will be used as a platform to network, support, encourage and learn from one another.
