3 Products Your Skin Needs Year-Round
By: Casey harding-brown
Meet Melissa, Owner of IV Point Aesthetics & Licensed Esthetician. After years working in the corporate, sales, and tech spaces, Melissa discovered that her real passion was in skincare and changing the way people feel about their skin. She was astounded at how expensive and un-educational skincare services were - and decided there needed to be a change.
Melissa launched Four Point Aesthetics in 2017 and has never looked back. Over the past two years, she’s built up her business with a specific focus on providing affordable services accompanied with education during and after the process.
Mel dedicates a portion of her services giving back to cancer survivors by providing them with services at a discounted price. This is something that is near and dear to Melissa, as one of her grandmothers recently lost her battle to ovarian cancer, and the other grandmother battled lung & breast cancer. She also has a handful of close friends who are cancer survivors. Melissa’s long term goal is to open a non-profit to help cancer survivors with scarring, tattooing, and other beauty services!
Mel has given a list of three products your skin needs all year round, along with recommendations and links to her favorite products!
1. Vitamin C
Again, not all skincare products are created equal! So be sure to talk to your esthetician to confirm you are using a high potency Vitamin C. Vitamin C boosts the collagen & elastin in your skin and protects it against sun & environmental damage.

2. Retinoids Vitamin A
Retinoids increase the rate of cell turnover. This can improve the texture and tone of skin, exfoliate dull and lifeless skin, fight acne, and slow the signs of aging. It’s important to note that products like beta carotene, retinaldehyde, and retinol are best used in the evening!

3. SPF
Regardless of how light or dark your skin is, this is a must year around. Yes, that means rainy days, cloudy days, and even just in the car! It’s important to protect your skin against sun damage. Physical Sunscreens such as Zinc Oxide and Titatinium Oxide deflect the sunlight.
