Care Packages for Mama

Q: What is Care Packages for Mama all about?
A: Care packages for Mama is a grassroots project I started at the beginning of Quarantine that provides basic needs and essentials to new mothers/parents and their babies in low-income households.
Q: What inspired you to start doing this?
A: I noticed in the beginning of the pandemic there were so many families that were expecting a new child while also having to worry about potentially losing their job and being able to put food on the table. I wanted to help out in any way that I could. Growing up in a family that struggled financially and seeing the mutual struggle my extended family and friends also went through helped me better understand how much impact one person can make when they lend a helping hand.
Q: Do you have any goals for the new year?
A: I have a couple of New Year’s goals but my main goal would be to connect with as many people in the community that have the same passion in wanting to help out people in need and find new ways to bring awareness to new causes.
Q: If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
A: If I could have one superpower it would be the ability to control the elements. Think about how much more livable this world would be!
Q: How can people help your cause?
A: The best way to help contribute to my cause is by spreading the word, whether it be through reposting my social media content or liking posts, talking to family, friends, and coworkers about it. Donating any of the items on my donation wishlist, and contacting me personally through email or Instagram with any questions or suggestions.
Q: Who are the most inspirational women in your life or women you look up to?
A: The womxn I look up to the most in my life would be my sisters and every womxn that have shown me that strength and vulnerability are not mutually exclusive.
